Running Setup on the Server

There is a main installation program, "SETUP.EXE", which will extract some temporary files, then prompt for user input and proceed accordingly.

NOTE: It is highly advisable that all networking be established and working before proceeding with installation. All clients should be able to communicate with and 'see' the server correctly.

When installing or recalling authorization on the server, you should be logged in as the administrator or have administrator privileges. If not, the operation will fail.

Installation steps

Step 1. On the server, insert the 5.10 RunTime CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. (If the server does not have a CD-ROM drive, see the section titled Alternative Installation - Novell / NetBIOS.)

Step 2. The setup program should automatically start. If it does not, run the program SETUP.EXE from the CD-ROM.

Step 3. The "Select Type of Installation" dialog box will be presented. Two choices will be given, with an explanation for each. Choose "NPLSecure - Novell or NetBIOS (peer-to-peer) networks". Click "Next" and begin following the prompts.
