YEAR 2000 READINESS STATEMENT AVAILABLE !
Soon it will be the year 2000, which has been a cause of great concern to both users and developers as well as Niakwa. So that youand your customers are prepared for the coming of the new millennium,Niakwa has published a Year 2000 Readiness Statement, which was recently mailed to all of our registered developers. This statement will tell you to what extent each NPL product is Year 2000 Ready, and for those products that are not, what you can do to make them Year 2000 Ready.
It's important to note that the NPL DOS, Windows and Intel Unix versions PRIOR to Revision 4.2 are NOT Year 2000 Ready. Thus, it is important for all users of those revisions of NPL to be upgraded to a current revision.
If you need additional copies of this statement for more details, it is available on our new and improved website. Our website address is http://www.niakwa.com
5.01 FOR SCO UNIX AND NDM FOR TCP/IP BETA NOW AVAILABLE!
NPL Release 5.01 for SCO Unix is a significant update in several areas. First, Release 5.01 introduces a number of new statements and syntax improvements to the language. Second, Release 5.0 introduces an exciting addition to the capabilities of NDM. NDM for TCP/IP allows an NDM application running Niakwa's 32-bit Windows RunTime to access C-ISAM files on a UNIX server.
Release 5.0 of NPL provides developers with the following enhancements:
=> New language statements including a Year 2000 compliant $LDATE.
=> Enhanced Universal Upgrade procedure.
=> Enhanced boolean expressions allows using a numeric expression as a boolean.
=> Parentheses are now permitted to group logical conditions.
=> NDM for TCP/IP.
And more! If you are interested in participating in the Beta of 5.01 for SCO Unix, please contact Rich Lindas at email@example.com.
PROGRAMMING TALENT AVAILABLE !
Niakwa has recently become aware of several individuals who are available for programming projects. Their skill sets all include NPL, some include specific skills in various IDE components such as NDM, and some include skills outside of NPL. These individuals may be available for full time or contract work. (Although we can't make any promises about location.)
If you might have an interest in these individuals, please contact the sales department at Niakwa or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or fill out an on-line form at http://www.niakwa.com/sig/sigreq_cp1.htm
