REMINDER - NPL RELEASE IV FOR SCO OPENSERVER UNIX WILL SOON BE COMPLETELY REPLACED BY NPL RELEASE V FOR SCO OPENSERVER UNIX
On June 30, 1999, Niakwa made available the NPL Release V RunTime for SCO OpenServer UNIX, which includes all of the new and enhanced features introduced in previous NPL versions 4.3 and 5.0, documented in the NPL Release V Compendium, as they pertain to the SCO OpenServer UNIX environment.
It was our intention to provide adequate time for developers to transition from NPL Release IV to NPL Release V on SCO OpenServer UNIX. Following is a reminder of some important dates to note for available NPL SCO OpenServer UNIX RunTime Package versions:
NPL Release V for SCO OpenServer UNIX will replace the previous Release IV version for SCO OpenServer UNIX RunTimes as of July 1, 2000. At that time, NPL Release IV for SCO OpenServer UNIX RunTimes will no longer be available for new sales.
For most NPL Release IV to Release V upgrade orders, the NPL Universal Upgrade package will be shipped along with a Certificate of License and Authenticity, which provides an easy-to-use, registration-based upgrade that inherits the serial number of the existing Gold Key and does not require the return of the old Gold Key. The upgrade requires the use of SHOWNPL, which can be copied from any 4.2x or higher Gold Key diskette or downloaded from Niakwa's website, www.niakwa.com, in order to obtain the correct RunTime information. Standard upgrade pricing applies.
NPL Release V for SCO OpenServer UNIX will replace the previous NPL Release IV for SCO OpenServer UNIX RunTImes on all upgrade orders as of July 1, 2000.
Replacements of NPL SCO OpenServer UNIX RunTimes, Release IV, will be provided through September 30, 2000. After that date, an upgrade to the current Release V version will be required.
Previous notices of these changes were announced on August 5, 1999, Marketing Bulletin 91, and on November 11, 1999, On-Line News Volume 3, No.21.
