NIAKWA SUPPORTS WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL VERSION!

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY OBSERVED THURSDAY & FRIDAY

NIAKWA SUPPORTS WINDOWS XP!

Today Niakwa announces it officially supports Windows XP Professional Edition, and supports Windows XP Home only in certain cases.

We tested the final edition of Windows XP Professional and Home Editions. These are our observations:

- We have tested Windows XP Professional in a Windows peer-to-peer network, on NT/2000 server, and with the Beta Version of Novell Client for XP Professional Edition. The final version of Novell Client for XP Professional was not available at the time of testing.   All appear to run NPL properly and completely.

- Our most rigorous testing was performed in the most recent maintenance release, version 5.01.27. However, tests were also performed on field release version 5.01.07 with no apparent differences. We observed no unusual behavior.

- The good news for everyone is that Windows XP Professional will be supported with all NPL Release V Windows versions!

- Windows XP Home presents another set of circumstances. Windows XP Home is equipped with the ability to connect only to a workgroup in a peer-to-peer networking configuration. It does not appear to have the built in ability to logon to a domain server or a Netware server. Novell is making no claim to support Windows XP Home. At this time, Niakwa can only support Windows XP Home in peer-to-peer networking environment and only with the Release V RunTime.

Note: as with Windows 98, ME and 2000, only Release V is supported in this 32-bit Windows environment; Release IV is not.

If you experience any unusual behavior using Release V on Windows XP, please let us know at support@niakwa.com.
